Kamphaeng Phet is a quiet little town. It doesn't get many tourists, so it's a wonderful destination to experience everyday life in a small town in northern Thailand. Kamphaeng Phet is located approximately midway between Bangkok and Chiang Mai and is an excellent stopover on your trip to one of Thailand's more northern regions. The province is home to Khlong Lan National Park, Khlong Wang Chao National Park and a Historical Park.

Prachuap Khiri Khan not only has the most beautiful name of any city in Thailand, it also has one of the more spectacular coasts lined with breathtaking jungle-clad limestone rock formations. It has an extremely laid-back atmosphere which reminds me of how Thailand used to be in other places before mass tourism changed them. Prachuap Khiri Khan is tucked in between two other bays: Ao Noi to the north and Ao Manao to the south. The food is delicious, the people are wonderful, Wat Khao Chong Krachok offers breathtaking views of the bay, the area is home to the endangered dusky leaf monkey, and the picturesque Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park is only a fifty-five-kilometer drive away. Prachuap Khiri Khan is without a doubt my favorite place in central Thailand.

Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park is one of the more impressive National Parks to visit in Thailand. It's best known for the stunning Phraya Nakhon Cave with its iconic Royal pavilion (see picture above). Between 10.30 and 11.30, the sun shines through a hole in the cave's roof, illuminating the Royal Pavilion. But, aside from the Phraya Nakhon Cave, there is a lot more to explore. The National Park encompasses an area of 92 km² dotted with majestic limestone mountains reminiscence of Krabi province. The National Park has caves, a viewpoint, a boardwalk, mangroves, boat trips, beaches, Dusky Leaf Monkeys, and a temple backed by jungle-clad limestone cliffs.
